Corrales Chiropractic
Corrales Chiropractic offers gentle, light force care in Corrales for people seeking a thoughtful alternative to forceful adjustments and quick fixes.
Gentle chiropractic care in Corrales
Corrales Chiropractic is the kind of practice that makes more sense once you understand how Dr. Brian Dickert thinks about the body. Brian is not simply looking for the place that hurts so he can make an adjustment and send you on your way. He pays attention to the bigger picture, including your spine, your nervous system, the tension your body is carrying, how you are responding to stress, and what you want to change in your life.
His approach is gentle. Instead of the forceful twisting or traditional back cracking that some people associate with chiropractic care, Brian uses subtle, light force contacts along the spine. It is an honoring approach for people who have wanted to try chiropractic care but have been uncomfortable with the idea of a forceful adjustment.
The experience is personal and thoughtful. Brian takes time to listen and understand what brought you in rather than treating every person the same way.
Corrales Chiropractic's history in Corrales
Corrales Chiropractic has been part of the Village of Corrales since the mid 1980s, when chiropractor Robert Lupowitz established the practice. Brian and Robert shared an important connection. They had trained under the same mentor and developed similar ideas about chiropractic care.
After Robert passed away in 2017, Brian learned through a mutual friend that the practice was available. At the time, Brian had spent approximately 20 years practicing chiropractic in Charlottesville, Virginia, and was looking for a new opportunity.
New Mexico had always interested him. Photography had been part of his life since he was young, and the landscapes of the West and Southwest had captured his imagination long before he lived here.
When Brian came to Corrales and met people who had been visiting the practice for 10 or 20 years, he found a community that wanted the practice to continue. He purchased Corrales Chiropractic, moved from Virginia, and has cared for the practice since 2017.
Brian did not arrive with the intention of turning Corrales Chiropractic into something completely different. He carried forward a similar chiropractic philosophy while bringing decades of his own study and experience to it.
Why Brian Dickert chose a gentler approach
Brian's interest in chiropractic began when he was a teenager experiencing migraines. His own experience with chiropractic care changed the direction of his life and eventually led him to Sherman College of Chiropractic.
While studying chiropractic, he became interested in Network Spinal Analysis. Brian was certified in that earlier system and has continued studying its evolution into what is now called Network Spinal. He is careful to make the distinction that he was certified in Network Spinal Analysis rather than the newer Network Spinal system.
That background helps explain why his care looks different from what many people picture when they hear the word chiropractor.
The technique relies on precise, light force contacts rather than aggressive manipulation. Brian pays close attention to patterns of tension and how the spine and nervous system are responding. For you, that means the visit is less about how much force can be applied and more about what your body is communicating.
What care at Corrales Chiropractic is like
Brian has an easy manner and listens carefully. If you have questions about what he is doing, why he is doing it, or whether his approach makes sense for you, those questions are welcome.
Some of the contacts are subtle.
Brian works with people of different ages, including older adults who may prefer a lighter touch. His philosophy is that care should fit the person.
After an adjustment, you may feel more relaxed. Some people tell Brian they sleep better or find themselves ready to exercise again. You may also notice a change in your posture or less soreness after working in the garden.
Brian is more interested in how your body responds over time and in helping you become more aware of the patterns that may be affecting how you move, rest, recover, and handle stress.
Whole person wellness beyond a quick adjustment
Brian's view of health extends beyond what happens during an appointment.
He is a cyclist, has experience with trail running, and has worked through his own injuries and physical challenges. He has spent years paying attention to movement, exercise, recovery, and the choices that help him get more from his own body.
He brings that perspective into conversations with the people he cares for.
Brian believes chiropractic care can be part of paying attention to your health rather than something you think about only when something hurts. His goal is not simply to chase symptoms. He wants you to better understand your body and become more involved in the decisions you make about your health.
That philosophy also shows up in the health newsletter he has resumed writing. He shares short, practical thoughts about subjects such as exercise, stretching, food, listening to your body, and recognizing when it may be time to make a change.
A personal practice in the Village of Corrales
The office is located along Corrales Road, across from Sandia Bar, in a village known for its cottonwoods, bosque, agricultural roots, local businesses, and historic places such as Old San Ysidro Church and Casa San Ysidro.
Corrales Chiropractic also sits within easy reach of Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Northwest Albuquerque, and Albuquerque's North Valley.
Brian has become part of that community while keeping many of the interests that originally drew him west. He still enjoys photography and cycling, and those parts of his personality help make Corrales Chiropractic feel more like an individual practice than an anonymous health care office.
You are dealing directly with the person who owns the practice, studies the technique, provides the care, and continues thinking about how people can better understand their own health.
Start with a conversation
You do not have to understand Network Spinal Analysis or know exactly what kind of chiropractic care you need before contacting Corrales Chiropractic.
If Brian's gentler approach sounds interesting, you can start by asking questions.
Brian is happy to talk by phone with someone who wants to understand the practice and decide whether it is the right fit. There is no charge simply to ask those questions by phone. If you decide to come in, the first visit typically includes an examination and has a fee.
That conversation reflects the practice itself.
Brian listens first, pays attention to the person in front of him, and approaches chiropractic care as something more thoughtful than simply finding a painful spot and adjusting it.
For someone looking for a subtle, gentle approach and a chiropractor who considers the whole person, Corrales Chiropractic offers that combination in the Village of Corrales.
