How Prelux Beauty Studio Grew

Prelux began with Sejal Patel. She started doing lashes in 2016, attended esthetician school in 2019, and became a licensed esthetician in 2020. She opened her first independent studio just as COVID closures began, forcing her to close almost immediately. When businesses reopened, she kept going.

In 2021, Sejal found a space closer to home. She needed one room and found a space with eight. She began filling the extra rooms with other beauty professionals. Once that space filled, she added a second and then a third. The studio grew from one esthetician in one room to a community spread across three neighboring suites in the same building.

To me, the story is about a studio that grew by bringing different specialists together. Sejal doesn't expect everyone to work the same way or build the same kind of clientele. Each specialist brings a different technique, personality, and focus, giving clients room to find someone whose approach fits.

Estheticians, Facial Specialists, and Lash Artists at Prelux

Sejal still works with clients on facials, lashes, teeth whitening, permanent makeup, and Venus Legacy treatments. She also provides Venus Legacy therapy as postoperative aftercare for patients referred through Dr. Rowe.

Clients often contact Sejal when they're unsure which specialist they need. She knows who focuses on what and can point them in the right direction.

The studio includes several estheticians with their own specialties. Andria focuses heavily on facials. Alexis works primarily with lashes and also provides facials. Trinity focuses on lashes. Jasmine specializes in facials and frequently works with men. Kacy offers facials and lashes. Marina focuses on facials, with an emphasis on services for men. Adrianna specializes in Brazilians, waxing, and esthetic services.

Thanisha Daniels of Nursify Aesthetics & Wellness brings nurse-led medical aesthetics and wellness services to Prelux. Thanisha is a registered nurse and certified nurse injector (Nursify). Her services include wrinkle relaxers, dermal fillers, SkinPen microneedling, PRF hair restoration, wellness injections, and clinician-guided weight management.

As an esthetician, Sejal doesn’t provide Botox or filler, so she refers those clients to Thanisha, who runs Nursify in the studio.

Laura Marquez works through Natural Skin Laser Lounge. She's a trained and certified Medical Laser Technician whose work includes laser hair removal and other laser-based skin services. That gives clients another option alongside traditional salon and facial services.

Permanent Makeup, Hair, Massage, and Nails in One Studio

Prelux also offers services beyond skincare and injectables.

Yen specializes in permanent makeup. Yolanda focuses on massage therapy. Alectra is a cosmetologist whose work includes hair color, haircuts, highlights, and related services. Erin focuses on braids and Black hair. Maya focuses on nails. Honey is a cosmetologist who primarily provides waxing and sometimes hair services.

You can come in for one service and find a specialist for another you've been considering. Each provider has their own skills, services, client relationships, and way of working within the broader Prelux studio.
